Is Custom Furniture Right For You?

I can’t answer that question for you. Custom furniture should be considered an investment, as I’ve mentioned before. It’s an investment in a quality, long-lasting, beautiful, heirloom piece of furniture. It will cost more than a furniture piece from a mass market retailer.

While I feel everyone should invest in custom made furniture, there are scenarios and times when custom furniture isn’t the way to go. Specifically if you simply can’t afford it or don’t know where your life is going to be in the next 12 months. I want to make you a custom piece of furniture but, if that means that you need to save up for it and come back to me in a year, then let’s wait! Wait until the time is right and you’re ready. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll still be cranking out custom made pieces in a year’s time.

However, if you are at a place where you feel that you’re settled in, have the space and budget for a custom piece, then I would ask you to consider having something made for your furniture needs vs buying it from a mass market retailer.

When you commission me to make something, you’re not only get an heirloom piece; you’re supporting me and my family. You support a small business, one that needs support from people like you, who get it, to keep going and making pieces.

I get as much joy out of making a piece of furniture for a client as they do receiving and using it. Knowing that my piece will live on in my client’s family for years to come, and tell their story, is why I do this.

So back to the question. Only you can answer if custom furniture is right for you. But, I am happy to walk you through the process of making your next piece when you are ready. Whether that’s today or a year from now.
